The District Attorney is the most powerful official in the criminal justice system. DAs exercise almost boundless discretion in making decisions about life and liberty, and yet they are almost unknown to the general public. Oregon has 36 District Attorneys, who often run unopposed in elections and serve multiple terms. Do you know your DA?

Speaker: Jason Renaud, veteran nonprofit mechanic and social justice campaigner, a fundraiser and co-producer of the award-winning documentary "Alien Boy: The Life and Death of James Chasse."
Topic: DOJ settlement with Portland Police regarding their pattern and practice of mistreatment of people with mental illness.
