The next meeting of the Portland Alliance and the board of the NW Alliance could take place in Portland, Oregon in Mid-April 2020.
Date to be announced.   

Currently the Alliance and NAAME, Inc. archives are housed in The International Peace Resource Center Library at 2228 West Kent Avenue, Missoula Montana 59801
The Alliance Board is mostly composed of B-Media people who work witha a variety of media alternatives including online, film, photograpy and more...
 
The Portland Alliance operates as a print or online newspaper, via NAAME an Oregon non-profit (Northwest Alliance for Alternative Media & Education)

NAAME and The Online Alliance always needs board members, directors, grant-writers, online editors, website and database administrators, fund-raisers and volunteers.

TheWorldsmith Collection is a nonprofit entity which provides the IPRC Library. We are expanding this resource library with a 12 foot deep by 30 foot extension
of the existing facility. The construction begins in March 2020.  The slab is laid, demo-work this winter, then in Spring the framing and building begin.

This new library space will provide room to provide access for:

1.   The International Peace Resource Center Library and The Wordsmith Collection Archives (1951-current)
       15 thousand books plus films, tapes, records, magazines, art and archives from  Arizona, California, Missouri, Montana, Ohio and Oregon.    

2.  The Portland Alliance Archives
      (1981 to current) and Portland Underground Magazine archives (1960 to 1980)  Thousands of archived papers, photographs, films, tapes, etc. 

3.  The S. Brian Willson Library and Archives:  
      More than 3000 Books, magazines, resources and archives (1940s-current) about History, Politics, War ,Geopolitical Machinations and Peace Activism


Primary Tasks:

1. Write Grants and Apply for Grants and Funding
2.  Acornhost Server** , the phone number and ISP access for The Alliance are current... (503)-697-1670)
3. Maintain endorsements, sponsorships, & online resources
4. Install databases Filemaker & Quickbooks in 300 gig database administration computer.  Some recovered databases must be sorted and relabeled)
5. Sort and file Alliance Resources in the new IPRC expansion.


Longer-Term Tasks

6. Obtain I-Mac or PC capable of running Adobe Creative Suites*
7. Obtain Adobe Creative Suites for this computer from Tech Soup*
8. Hire online editor, print editor, & pay stipend for front page feature with artwork.
    Print a yearly edition in some form. (11X14 Folded & Stapled to start)
9. Print Regular Indesign-based Newspaper in Quarterly to Monthly Edition
10. Digitize eleven years of hard copy Alliance, combine with 20 years already digitized by Wisconsin Historical Society,
      and File with Library of Congress         (Grant Opportunity)
11. Promote Alliance & Raise Funds
       *existing I-Mac must eventually be recovered via California firm ($750-2500)
12. Create Foundation: Alliance for Alternative Media, Education, & Creative Arts
