Topic: Clean and Safe.Right 2 Survive Radio show airs on the 2nd Wednesday of each month on KBOO 90.7 Fm. Each show is unique because it highlights the struggles of the unhoused here in Portland and some interviews from other cities across the country. Kboo 90.7 fm airs our hour long show from 6 to 7 pm. R2S radio isn’t just interviews, they are often emotional, inspiring and uplifting stories direct from people living unhoused. The show also includes musical interludes, that are usually in keeping with the them of a show or a song that relates to the previous persons story. We hope you have a chance to listen and provide us with feed back. This months topic will be on Clean and Safe. We went out to different parts of the city to get peoples perceptive on Clean and Safe program. “The downtown Clean & Safe cleaning crew keeps downtown clean seven days a week. In partnership with Central City Concern, the Homeless-to-Work Program offers training and mentorship opportunities to workers that are formerly homeless or have other barriers to employment. For more than 20 years, Clean & Safe has offered this opportunity for formerly homeless individuals to re-enter the workforce. Cleaning crews provide sidewalk sweeping, graffiti removal, litter and cigarette removal and pressure washing services in the district.” Lately, we have been seeing Clean and Safe workers going through and throwing away people’s belongs and harassing people on the streets. Listen on Wednesday January 8th from 6 to 7 on Kboo 90.7fm to find out what is really going on in the streets. We will have interviews from the houseless community as well as clean and safe workers.
