“Empower Tee” Empower showers of erotic flowers Like Georgia on kief Made from crystals and leaf That each maiden in heat Injected. I’m feeling reflected, Sometimes rejected, And the mirrors line the paths To and from. Like sheep lined up horny and dumb. Like love blasting brighter than sun. Guys stink; therefore I am. Was the ultimate sham On a localized scan Being raised by a clan That instead worked the land Married had kids and then ran For position. Told to be Me I found to be Encouraging, But the rules contradicted, Confounded, conflicted Until they were sticklers, I, Mare, the Inflictor, And back buckling bursting Through gates I raced thirsting For that what seemed real in all lights: The dream that keeps sleep out of nights. But like all you still reading, Still sitting, still breathing, Backhanding, conceiving Understanding, still standing Life just keeps on happ’ning Love, death, loss, despair Epic tales, copped out dares Failed marriage, successful scourge Of the constant want to purge My soul of what I believed To be bad inside me: like demons whispering. So scared was I To open my eyes I heard dark words I constantly purged, Ears closed to devils. Don’t get me wrong, I was rebel, But my conscious A constant ripple: Asking why Without a quibble, Wanting answers Whether questions Were wanted. This is how my mind, was haunted. So I went ahead and crashed Thirty-four still getting smashed On meak unemployment stash Before I stood up for myself, And gave into health wealth, Empowered beyond being dashed. Listen, hey I’ve lived well, Traveled far, Douched on par With movie stars, Hit the bars Like Tonya Hards… Whatever man, I lived life raw. Either way, as I started, To say, before I thwarted, The praise, of one great lady Who stayed, not buying the shady She paved, the way for women To live lives lasting longer, loving self, Loving someone, who’s also loving. She’s got that lusting for life That gets everyone going. That kind of enthusiasm That keeps toes curling. If only the woman Would just quit nitpicking, distracting, refracting, while still sounding witty. I guarantee you If she, You’re grinning, rolling eyes at me Thinking this poem another proof in puddin’ And you’re right Miss Shoulda Woulda Coulda, Too Bad; I’m Empower! And, yes! We’re all towers-- Far from phallic: We’re galactic, interactic Pointing straight out To the Bosons To the outer-inner Most regions Empowered By time charged by space whooshing matter It all winds up churned up engulfed in dark batter That all comes down to this one little issue: For powerful, sacred transcendent beast beings We still keep it real all the way to heart seeing These gifts that we offer, We’re more than Coifers, They’re more than what’s silver and gold. Its all alchemists matters’ That click clack and clatter From soft hands That heal Love hung bones. It’s Empowerment, soothing and bold. -Mary Ought Six This particular poem was inspired by my friend Trista Okel, owner and CEO of Empower Oil. Empower is a topical pain reliever and works for a slew of other maladies as well. So does Trista. "People have only as much liberty as they have the intelligence to want and the courage to take.” Emma Goldman
